EGGLESTON Moorcock Inn

At the heart of Upper Teesdale in the North Pennine moors, the Moorcock Inn is a classic north country pub with local real ales, a huge selection of single malts, and excellent home cooked food. This is wonderful walking country, remote footpaths, beautiful unspoilt moorlands, great waterfalls and dramatic castles. After which, a drink on the terrace at the Moorcook, watching the sunsets for which Teesdale is famous. This is also gun dog territory, so look forward to meeting a few working locals. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub (and in the restaurant if not too crowded) as well as bed and breakfast rooms. Fresh water and chews available.

LOW FELL The Aletaster
If you like real ale in a non-pretentious setting, then this is the place for you. The landlord, Lawrence is great and is so easy going about dogs being in the pub as long as they are under control, which all great dog owners would do any way. Lawrence has a dog of his own but she doesn't sit in the bar.Tthis pub looks friendly from the outside and when you try it, you will see it's just as friendly inside!
