BRAMFIELD The Grandison

After a long walk it is a treat to come across this pub which is dog friendly.The Grandison describes itself as a 'village pub and dining rooms'. Once upon a time I am guessing it was just a village pub but current owners have turned it into a gourmet dining experience! Dogs are welcomed in the 'bar' area - which has about as many dining tables as the restaurant anyway. Almost everyone there was eating dinner when we visited - us included. The food is amazing - and priced accordingly as you would imagine, with much of the produce being locally sourced. Not only are they open all day every day - Fri to Sun they offer a special brunch, and they have a farm shop/deli attached next door too.

Serves basic food at lunchtimes (except Sunday), always a dog bowl outside and dogs welcomed by landlord and locals alike. A beautiful 16th century pub on the Grand Union Canal. Traditional food at very reasonable prices. Dogs allowed in the bar (which is the best and the oldest part of the pub). Fantastic walks for dogs along the tow-path or up to Boxmoor Trust land at Westbrook Hay. Very dog friendly with a pub puppy - an interesting cross between a Ridgeback and an Akita! Well worth a visit.
