| BADLESMERE LEES The Red Lion

Some stunning walks over the North Downs accessible from the back of the village green behind the pub.
Very relaxed atmosphere towards dogs, landlady has two lurchers and a number of the regulars bring their dogs to the pub with them - along with many weekend visitors. Excellent cellar (in terms of ale!), and good pub food - often features local game in season. A quintessentially quirky English country pub!

Bowls of water outside the front door, the true sign of a Doggie Pub. Very welcoming atmosphere and lovely old fashioned decor with exposed stone walls and flagged floors. Excellent food all cooked from scratch and a list of local suppliers appears on the menu. Gets very busy so service is sometimes slow but always good natured. Dogs allowed in bar and in the covered courtyard dining area although the downside is that's where children are put as well. If you book a table tell them you have a dog as some areas reserved.
