The Skimmington Castle started life as a farm 400 years ago. New publicans and they have turned this empty village pub into a lovely local that not only welcomes visitors but also allows dogs. They have a good selection of different ales available and know how to look after them. Food is your basic pub grub but kitchen times are limited, however when the kitchen is shut pizza's and baguettes are usually available. Well worth a visit to their music or quiz nights if this is your cup of tea.
