Pub is in the heart of this small village called Esholt, and was the home to the ITV soap Emmerdale.
Dogs are welcome on leads. The food is gorgeous and with big plate fulls your never left hungry. There are real ales and a local guest ale for you to chose from, while your dog gets a glass of ice to keep themselves entertained! In the winter the fire is lit and gives the pub the home from home feel. The resident dog called Dylan can often be found sat at the top of the stairs keeping watch.
There are some large woods at the back of the pub to help walk off your dinner, and you could have a look round the home of Emmerdale village!

When he laid down to have a snooze, they even blocked off the path with chairs so no one would trip over him!

The food is excellent from locally sourced suppliers and the menu is varied and reasonabley priced.The pub also offers internet access on your own laptop or the computer in the bar.There are several moorland walks which can easily begin or end at the pub. Walkers and dogs are welcomed. Water bowls are provided and occasionally a well behaved dogs may be offered something tasty!

This pub is a very friendly local. More dogs than people half the time as there are woods and fields behind the pub and every local seems to own a dog. The pub dog, Sheba is very entertaining.
Sundays are very family friendly. They only do sandwiches (usually free) and Stew etc on Sunday.

Lovely outdoor seating/eating area in Summer, great traditional pub menu and hand-pulled cask ales. NOTE in winter, dogs are welcome inside when food isn't being served. A very old pub with low beamed ceilings and even gas lighting, all sympathetically maintained. Dogs are allowed in the Snug at any time where you can also order food - it fits 2 people and 2 dogs comfortably, but beware there is no table/chairs, you perch on a padded window seat.
