| APPLECROSS The Applecross Inn

An Inn at the end of the world, just getting there you need to cross the Bealach nam Bo, the highest mountain pass in Britain - rising over 2000 feet in six miles - to be rewarded on a clear day by spectacular views of Raasay and Skye, Ben Nevis and the Cairngorms. The bar is its heart: a lively place that is popular with locals and visitors alike. The main attraction is its food, particularly the seafood and an inspection bar lunch of queen scallops from Loch Toscaig in a cream, wine, tarragon and mushroom sauce, confirmed that the cuisine's popularity is deserved. B&B too.
