ISLE OF WHITHORN Steam Packet Inn
In an area which isn't well provided with good pubs, this is a real gem. Excellent walking is available along the coast, and then - when you've been buffeted by the wind and your dog's coat is matted in salt - it's off to the Packet, where dogs are fussed over, and the food comes in enormous portions.

WIGTOWN Fordbank Hotel

Lovely hotel just outside Wigtown where dogs are made to feel really welcome. What more would your dog like than lying in front of a roaring fire in the lounge. Food is wonderful and local. Owners have two spaniels and make dogs so welcome at the hotel.

WIGTOWN The Wigtown Ploughman Hotel

You and your dog(s) will not get a warmer friendlier welcome and Sonny, Sky, Storm and Schnook will be the first to greet you. Clive Dickson who owns the Inn is also the head chef, renowned for their food; a basic simple but tasty menu is offered. Located in Scotland's national book town there are two book festivals every year, where it's possible to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. Here you are only 6 miles away from Galloway's forest where dogs can be let off their leash and behind the Inn is 9 acres of field so plenty of room for the dogs to run around. There are lots of organised walks and visitors find themselves returning again and again!
