By the beach which is dog friendly all year round. With a nature reserve to the other side so perfect for our fur babies. There is a well-stocked dog treat jar on the bar and every dog that visits is offered one and sometime two.

We arrived in the middle of a rainstorm. I was as muddy as my dog after hiking along the SW Coast Path for the afternoon. No problem, they told me. They provided a bowl and water and the waitress made a total fuss over my muddy puppy (well, Vinka IS the most beautiful dog in Devon).
The Mussel Inn is quite out of the way, so probably not often much busier than I saw it at midday.

Good food, special deal including desserts which were delicious. Dogs allowed in beer garden and bar but not the restaurant. We had the whole bar to ourselves when we visited. Our dog got served a bowl of water which he enojoyed very much. My daughter recommends the fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas. Service was very friendly and we had a lovely leisurely lunch then walked back to Jennycliffe.

Stars
Stars are awarded by YOU.
Please help us get the stars right, they indicate overall dog-friendliness. So a simple
pub may deserve 5 Stars, whereas a very smart gastropub may only receive 1, (or visa versa).
Stars represent Your Views, SO...
If you think that one of the listed pubs needs more or less Stars PLEASE just HOVER OVER Rate Pub link AND CLICK THE STARS. Your new rating will get sent to us.
Why have some pubs got no stars?
Because no one has told us yet how many it deserves! Please bear with us while we update the pubs, this may take a little while as there are OVER 7000!
As you can see we do need your help with the new dog-friendly ratings. This is an excellent excuse to visit all the pubs that are local to you and do some serious research. Ideally every pub should be ‘starred and iconned’. Woof, woof!
