A lovely old pub serving real ales and great food. Good sized meals at a sensible price. They are extremely dog friendly and sell bags of doggy snacks for 50p. Dogs even appear on their website. Our dog drinks fresh water from the running water outside.

A beautiful old pub in the centre of Branscombe. Dogs are welcome in the bar and the pub serves excellent food with a varied menu. During some of the winter months there is a log fire where meat spit roasted over the log fire. A good selection of real ales. Can sit out side in the summer and is very popular with visitors so booking is essential during peak periods. The car park can be very busy at these times and parking can be a problem.

We stayed close to Lyme Regis in a cottage and a local recommended The Ship Inn at Axmouth. The food was excellent and above the usual pub standard. The pub very dog friendly judging by the Irish Wolfhound another customer brought in. We ate inside, which can be a little cramped though our dog settled down easily enough and also ate outside in the garden on a fine evening, where there is lots more room. Note there is not much parking available, so best to book and arrive early as the pub is very popular.

Fantastic pub in the heart of Exmouth. Thoroughly welcoming to us and our 2 greyhounds. Water was offered and we were shown the dog biscuit jar incase we wished to give treats. Dogs are permitted throughout the pub and the beer garden. It must be a popular place for people with dogs as there were several already in when we arrived.
The staff were warm and helpful, offering beer samples and helping us to find the right drink. They also recommended some of the burgers to us and they were fabulous.
We were in Exmouth for just under a week and this became our favourite haunt. We will be going back and paying a visit again when we come down for a winter break in the New Year.

Newish landlord and now doggie friendly. Near Blackdown Hills, two tables in bar where you can eat with your dog with you - apparently these tables get booked by dog walkers in advance so you should telephone and let them know if you want to eat inside. A great back garden too. Waitress might bring you some scraps of Sunday beef and pork crackling. Also B&B with a room that they use for dogs - they provide a piece of carpet for dogs to sleep on and just charge £5 extra,

We stayed in a cottage near to Lyme Regis in July 2018 and stumbled across the Hix Oyster and Fish House walking down to Lyme Regis from the main car park. This is a restaurant not a pub and dogs are only allowed on the veranda overlooking Lyme Regis and the bay. As we had fine weather we preferred to do that anyway for the views. The veranda is not large, but our Retriever settled down as usual and the staff were great in stepping round him when serving. The food was absolutely excellent. My fish pie took a while to arrive as it was made freshly, and was well worth the wait. We had lunch there every time we went into Lyme Regis.
