Visited this pub as we saw it in passing and after enquiring, were made to feel like Cooper (our springer) would be made very welcome in the bar area of this fantastic looking upmarket pub and hotel.
Lots of little nooks helped to keep Cooper out of the way (his preference not the pubs) and after ordering from the extensive menu, the lady who served me came over with a bowl of water and a good belly rub which Cooper enjoyed immensely, she also offered done off cuts from the Sunday carvery which we politely declined but loved the offer nonetheless.
All in all, great location (views over the Barack were fantastic) the food was top notch (not bank breaking prices either) as was the drinks selection and the doggie welcome was second to none! Awesome find, it's now in our favourite for our next visit to Cornwall.

This pub/restaurant was opened recently after a thorough refurbishment of the old school. It's lovely inside - wood floors, leather armchairs and really friendly barstaff. We were all - two and four-legged alike - made to feel very welcome. The food was fantastic - really well-cooked British food. And it's all local. We'll definitely be back for more!

The Publican tells us they goes out of his way to welcome people with dogs. Nice slate floor so no trouble with wet and muddy paws. Very friendly and welcoming. Lots of good circular inland and coastal walks can be taken from this pub and the Landlord is happy that cars be left in the car park in return for some custom!
