Very dog friendly. Several water bowls. Staff love dogs and hand out treats. I've had staff carry my drink to a table because I've got my dog on the lead. I have a greyhound and if you know them, you'll know they love to sleep usually right in the way of everything. Staff always happy to step over.

New owners since June last year. It is a free house. We visited here on our usual Saturday dog walk/pub adventure. The atmosphere, decor and beverage was delightful. The food was of good quality and excellent value. A choice of both usual pub food and specials. We chose from the specials and enjoyed our meal immensely. We will definitely return. A lovely pub with a jar of dog biscuits on the bar! Gets very busy in good weather, so be prepared to park along the lanes, but you can walk along the coast/beach from National Trust free car park few miles back. Staff are extremely friendly and even have their own resident dog who wanders around.

Located on the Old Dorchester Road. Receintly changed hands and has been closed whilst work is being done. Called in for lunch as we have not seen it for some years. New owners have improved the place and although the menu is fairly limited, having just opened, what we had was good, well presented and reasonably priced. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Two old ales plus the usual range of drinks. Dogs allowed in the bar area where pooch nibbles are available. There is an outside seating area to enjoy with your dog too. I wish the new owners well in their new venture.

Very clean and friendly, and happy for our large x-breed, Lunar, to sit with us in the bar. Wide range of draught ciders and beers, and pretty candles on tables and mantlepiece. Lots of squashy sofas, as well as hard chairs, so all in all a very pleasant environment. The food was decidedly average when we were there, but other Tripadvisor reviews have been complimentary so maybe we just caught them on a bad day.
Does seem to operate some fairly part time hours, so check before you travel.
