Fantastic pub in the heart of Exmouth. Thoroughly welcoming to us and our 2 greyhounds. Water was offered and we were shown the dog biscuit jar incase we wished to give treats. Dogs are permitted throughout the pub and the beer garden. It must be a popular place for people with dogs as there were several already in when we arrived. The staff were warm and helpful, offering beer samples and helping us to find the right drink. They also recommended some of the burgers to us and they were fabulous. We were in Exmouth for just under a week and this became our favourite haunt. We will be going back and paying a visit again when we come down for a winter break in the New Year.

The new owners used to run The Buller's Arms in Chagford. Great chef and menu is expanding and very good. They have an occasional visiting dog and are VERY dog friendly. Every dog gets a biscuit from the bar and often the roast leftovers. There are no rules for dogs - except that they have to be well behaved. They aren't allowed in the dining room; however DP supporters Springer's spotted in there during New Year so as not to be left out of the party.

  • StarsThis icon is for.....

Stars are awarded by YOU.

Please help us get the stars right, they indicate overall dog-friendliness. So a simple pub may deserve 5 Stars, whereas a very smart gastropub may only receive 1, (or visa versa).

Stars represent Your Views, SO...

If you think that one of the listed pubs needs more or less Stars PLEASE just HOVER OVER Rate Pub link AND CLICK THE STARS. Your new rating will get sent to us.

Why have some pubs got no stars?

Because no one has told us yet how many it deserves! Please bear with us while we update the pubs, this may take a little while as there are OVER 7000!

As you can see we do need your help with the new dog-friendly ratings. This is an excellent excuse to visit all the pubs that are local to you and do some serious research. Ideally every pub should be ‘starred and iconned’. Woof, woof!
