We sought this pub out having checked your site before going to Wells with our 8 month old Labradoodle, 'Dood' for his first pub visit. We were impressed. The Greek Taverna at The Sun, as it is now called, is clearly in new hands since your entry. It has been run by a lovely Greek family for four months now.
Before entering I checked that it would be ok to bring in the dog and was offered a table at the rear near the kitchen entrance. Having eaten before arriving we just ordered drinks. These were brought to our table along with a lovely little plateful of free mezes (olives and houmous) and the offer of a bowl of water for Dood!
The staff were all very friendly and seeing the dog near the walkway to the kitchen were keen to stroke him but not one of them did so as they explained hygiene rules forbade this, we were impressed by this and would certainly like to return again to sample the authentic Greek food and warm hospitality.

Smallest pub in Bath tucked away in a charming side street. Superb British pub food with a lovely roast dinner and casserole on the menu. Very friendly local. NB They only allow dogs in the pub outside of food-serving hours but as town pubs are fewer Millie wanted to include this entry. Good changing real ales with Bellringer only brewed around the corner. Great pub, newly renovated, with a cosy bar (where the pups can go) and busy restaurant (dogs not allowed – but the girls will set you up a table near the fire if you've got your dog with you). There are 6 B&B rooms, one of which is suitable for those travelling with their pet pooch. A massive beer garden will be perfect for the summer months, and their resident hound, a magnificent blue Great Dane called Henry, welcomes all (on four legs and two!) to his great pub. A must-visit. Sundays are particularly doggie-friendly – when DP Supporter last visited there was a Standard Poodle, two black Labs, Henry the Great Dane, a Border Terrier, a Dalmatian and a Hungarian Hound in the bar, plus two horses tied up outside!

Stars
Stars are awarded by YOU.
Please help us get the stars right, they indicate overall dog-friendliness. So a simple
pub may deserve 5 Stars, whereas a very smart gastropub may only receive 1, (or visa versa).
Stars represent Your Views, SO...
If you think that one of the listed pubs needs more or less Stars PLEASE just HOVER OVER Rate Pub link AND CLICK THE STARS. Your new rating will get sent to us.
Why have some pubs got no stars?
Because no one has told us yet how many it deserves! Please bear with us while we update the pubs, this may take a little while as there are OVER 7000!
As you can see we do need your help with the new dog-friendly ratings. This is an excellent excuse to visit all the pubs that are local to you and do some serious research. Ideally every pub should be ‘starred and iconned’. Woof, woof!
