I love this pub since new owners Paul and Paula have taken over.
It's now perfect for the whole family including the dog. Simple but fresh food, great drinks and there's dog treats on the bar.
Libby the Labradoodle makes the occasional appearance as do a couple of cats.

This is an excellent pub for dog walkers and there is a large beer garden with a play area for kids - there is also a bouncy castle at weekends! Oldest pub in Northwich, a tradtional English chop house serving home cooked food. dating back to 1650, has just been taken over by the company that operates the Red Lion further up the river in Winsford and the King's Lock in Middlewich. Major refurbishment planned in early 2016 will allow a full food offering, in the meantime they are just doing posh sandwiches using local produce. Five hand pumps with at least two well-kept local ales and a craft cider. Cocktails are a speciality. They don't even stock things like J2O because they would rather mix you the equivalent from fresh juice.
Dogs welcome in the main bar, and there is a big garden down to the tarmac path along the river Weaver. Water and biscuits are provided.
