Located on the Old Dorchester Road. Receintly changed hands and has been closed whilst work is being done. Called in for lunch as we have not seen it for some years. New owners have improved the place and although the menu is fairly limited, having just opened, what we had was good, well presented and reasonably priced. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Two old ales plus the usual range of drinks. Dogs allowed in the bar area where pooch nibbles are available. There is an outside seating area to enjoy with your dog too. I wish the new owners well in their new venture.

A lovely pub with a jar of dog biscuits on the bar! Gets very busy in good weather, so be prepared to park along the lanes, but you can walk along the coast/beach from National Trust free car park few miles back. Staff are extremely friendly and even have their own resident dog who wanders around.

New owners since June last year. It is a free house. We visited here on our usual Saturday dog walk/pub adventure. The atmosphere, decor and beverage was delightful. The food was of good quality and excellent value. A choice of both usual pub food and specials. We chose from the specials and enjoyed our meal immensely. We will definitely return. A lovely old pub in the centre of Cerne Abbas. Water was provided for dogs and our springer was given a biscuit by the friendly bar staff. Food when we visited was a basic bar menu as we were there for a tailored event but there is a more varied menu during normal opening hours. Food was freshly cooked and beer recommended!
