They have two black Labradors Poppy & Tilly who may play with you in the Newmillerdam Country Park that has a lake and many wooded walks. Lovely old pub steeped in history and full of memorabilia from the local textile heritage. Winter sees the old Yorkshire range fired up for four legged customers to curl up in front of and two legged customers to huddle round. Water bowls are happily provided. A range of real ales are available and Timothy Taylor's is always on offer. The pub has previously been awarded Mild pub of the season from CAMRA and always has a mild option. The pub is next to the Birkby Bradley Greenway and a short walk takes you to the Leeds Liverpool canal for stretching the legs. The pub gets very busy prior to a Huddersfield Town home game and this is the only time the on street parking is in short supply.

What a truly fantastic pub this is. It's the heart of the village and dogs are welcome in the bar, where you can also enjoy their excellent food. We stay in Farnley Tyas twice a year; we've eaten there 10+ times and never been disappointed. It describes itself as a country pub. Loads of lovely footpaths locally for walkers. There's dog water outside and the staff are lovely.
It has two sister pubs in the area: The Bull's Head Inn at Blackmoorfoot is foodie and dog friendly too in a nice bar room. We plan to try The Kaye Arms at Grange Moor very soon!

Just me and the dog. We were made very welcome. We went on a hot and sunny Sunday. The staff brought a bowl of water without me asking for it and we were offered a bowl of scraps which turned out to be a pretty generous helping of roast meat. The staff were quite a fan of my little Staffie. I had the roast pork which was good.

Excellent craft ales next to the Ossett Brewery. When we arrived to ask if our dog was allowed in the response was "ooo you've got a dog. Lovely" and all the bar staff came round to fuss her. Every time I tell people that dogs are allowed in Belgrave they are surprised, so here comes my secret tip. I found out about this from the event hosted there every second Saturday of the month - Food and Music Festival at Belgrave where it always says: Kids + Dogs welcome. I have been there a couple of times now during the day and it's very nice to sit there and enjoy a pint and a burger or pizza. Everybody loves it if you go there with your pup and you will get a lot of: "Oh can I cuddle your doggy?" I would not recommend going there at night though as it gets busy and loud.

There is a sign on the door that says no dogs but when I called them they said they do allow dogs and since then I must have taken my dog at least half a dozen times and they are always super friendly: always offer a dish of water and last time my dog was even given a complimentary dried pig's ear to chew on! This is a pretty rough and ready pub (no food served but that means they don't mind you bringing in your own from the local chippy!) but I would say that makes it great for dogs. They do a good pub quiz on Thursdays, too!

Brilliant pub, and friendly staff. When the weather is good there is a large garden by the River Aire. The food is delicious, some of the best Sunday lunches in Leeds, and very reasonably priced. Kirkstall Bridge Inn is owned by the local Kirkstall Brewery, who supply top quality ales and beers. It is very dog friendly, dogs are allowed downstairs and the entrance is at the rear. There are bowls left out for water and my dog was given a doggy biscuit by the bar staff - she asked me if it was ok first. The pub is not far from lovely canal side walks and the historic Kirkstall Abbey.
