We had no problem at all going in with our dog and finding a table.
All dogs must be kept on a lead. Pub also has a house cat which we only saw once and it didn't bat an eyelid to our dog.

Featured in the Good Beer Guide 2005 and recipient of CAMRA 2005. However! one supporter reports that: On asking if we could bring the dogs in we were told that they could go into one small bar area but it so happened that all the tables had been reserved for crib players and this meant that there was no room for us. We weren't offered the use of any of the other areas in the pub. Bother.

Great dog-friendly pub in a fantastic setting. Food was delicious, both the Sunday roast and normal menu (and there's a Daily Specials menu too) Great wine and ale selection. Cosy fire for the winter months. Lovely outside area for the warmer months. This was our puppy's first holiday and first visit to a pub and he loved it. The locals made a real fuss of him and one even wanted a photo of him! Dogs allowed in the bar area. Very convenient venue when early for IOW ferry as Wightlink.

You can't get much closer to the sea than at this dog friendly pub on the seafront. Excellent location on the River Hamble with plenty of parking opposite and nearby - though busy as lots of sailors. Food is generally good and service friendly. Lovely views of river. The menu predictable. Excellent value especially if one sticks to the set menu; i.e. 3 course for £9.95! Good beers including the reliable Greene King brews. Well behaved dogs with sensible owners. Supporter says they have waited many years for this pub to accept dogs, so is praying all owners will behave!
