Excellent pub and food served all day. Plenty of room for dogs in bar and part of non-carpeted restaurant. Very, very dog friendly. We had a lovely meal after a nice long walk and will return. Good choice of vegan and vegetarian food. They were happy to provide doggy bags and even sold a special doggy ice cream.

A very nice and welcoming pub with a good website to entice you. Its location just within the eastern edge of the New Forest is ideal for those who love the wide open spaces, or just like taking dogs for walks..........they are everywhere - as are the ponies, cattle, pigs, and now even donkeys. Dogs are welcome inside as well as out, and large drinking bowls are provided, but our Lab missed out on her Guinness 'cos the pump was broken. The range of food and drink is excellent, without being too expensive. Despite the address being as Brook the pub is more easily accessed from the east-bound carriageway of the A31, just before it becomes the M27 at Cadnam. The name? Read all about him on the Rufus Stone, 200 yards from the pub, or on the website/internet.

We went on the recommendation of friends, and what a find it was! Water and dog treats at the bar. The staff and other guests were very friendly with the dogs. The waiter didn't even bat an eyelid when he was tripped up by our less than well behaved whippet.
The Sunday roast was very tasty and the portions generous. The menu for the rest of the week has quite a bit of variety. The pub serves a small but well curated selection of local ales. We will certainly go back.

Two friendly resident dogs and another two came for lunch when we were there.

Beautiful country pub in Downton near Salisbury.
