A great place to eat on holiday as it is in the middle of the village, you can't miss it. The food is excellent for all tastes and great filling portions to boot. All day breakfasts, baked potatoes, baguettes, just tea, coffee, cream teas to full evening meals, specials, fish, Mexican type and more. Great real ales too. Tastes good and there is plenty of space in the restaurant and we sat by the pool table by the bar, all with no problems with our dog Skye. It is a traditional place with large solid wooden tables and chairs.Children are catered for as well with a variety of childrens' meals. It gets very busy in the summer. Billy Budds pub next door is theirs as well and does slightly different meals out of the kitchen and does not get as busy, nice to watch telly, surf dvd's and more.

Very welcoming pub serving wonderful food and very dog friendly. Our small, well behaved dog was allowed in the restaurant area; a table for four in a corner (so she wouldn't get trodden on) as the bar was busy, although normally the dogs would be in the bar only. Either way, there are dining tables in the bar, with access to the full menu. The pub also has a pool table and darts board, so you can really enjoy a full evening out at the Black Venus, with or without your four legged friend.

This pub has many regular customers who bring their dogs and they welcome new regulars with dogs of all sizes. The dogs can sit with their owners in the pub or in the garden with a beautiful view. Food is served inside and outside from mid-day to late. Locally brewed real ale and locally sourced meat. Friendly staff.

Stars
Stars are awarded by YOU.
Please help us get the stars right, they indicate overall dog-friendliness. So a simple
pub may deserve 5 Stars, whereas a very smart gastropub may only receive 1, (or visa versa).
Stars represent Your Views, SO...
If you think that one of the listed pubs needs more or less Stars PLEASE just HOVER OVER Rate Pub link AND CLICK THE STARS. Your new rating will get sent to us.
Why have some pubs got no stars?
Because no one has told us yet how many it deserves! Please bear with us while we update the pubs, this may take a little while as there are OVER 7000!
As you can see we do need your help with the new dog-friendly ratings. This is an excellent excuse to visit all the pubs that are local to you and do some serious research. Ideally every pub should be ‘starred and iconned’. Woof, woof!
