Apparently reasonably good beer.
My dog loves going for an hour or so and is now much better behaved, but without an accommodating pub he would not have been trained to be so.

Lovely location near Holyport village pond, although can be a bit noisy with the M4 close by. Nice garden area next to the pond and a small airy conservatory. Good food - including very tasty Belgian ice cream. No music, no pool table, no gambling machines. Originally called The Eagle but changed its name during World War II and took its new name from the place where most of the fighting was going on at the time! Dogs allowed throughout the pub.

A lovely pub in a beautiful spot on the edge of Windsor Great Park and Virginia Water. This is a newly refurbished pub that just reopened in July. There is a terraced garden overlooking the woodland, where dogs are more than welcome with water waiting for them. Dogs are also welcome inside the pub. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly.

Very dog friendly they have a very cute yellow Labrador puppy. The have a large garden with heating for the late evening and winter months. This is a lovely local pub right on the Thames in the lovely small village of Sonning-on-Thames. In summer, we walk here every week from Reading (the pub is surrounded by amazing walks) and have a nice meal in their large pub garden. Every member of staff also owns a dog and everyone always comes over to cuddle our dog!
Dogs are allowed inside in the pub area, but are not allowed in the restaurant area. Assistance dogs welcome in the B and B.
In winter, we often have a fantastic meal in the pub by the fire whilst our dog sleeps under the table! There are always lots of people who come up to him for a cuddle.
All in all a lovely pub with excellent food and friendly people.

The Boatman is Windsor's only proper pub by the river and has a lot of space on the terrace outside as well as an all-weather terrace area featuring a conservatory with a retractable roof and heating. Dogs are allowed on the terrace and in the bar inside and you can eat from the full restaurant menu with your dog in tow from 12pm to 10pm every day.
The food is a glorious mix of traditional British favourites such as fish and chips, sausage and mash, calves liver and bacon, chicken pie and gourmet burger and also has a fine selection of Mediterranean dishes as well as great desserts.
It's a fabulous place to be when the sun shines but is also great when it's not - and especially pretty at night when their inside and outside twinkle lights are on.
Dogs are welcomed with a bowl of water and treats (if owner allows) - the owner has two dogs of her own and the staff love visiting dogs. My two dogs love it there, and we go for a coffee, lunch or dinner after a walk on The Brocas in Eton or by Romney Lock.

I used to pass by this pub as it looked unloved but the guys who have taken it over have done an amazing job! We went there for the inauguration last week and we could not believe it. All redone inside and the food is to die for; tagliatelle, sausage and mash, burgers... a mix of British and Italian (chef is Italian) classics.
You can't go wrong. Beer and wine selection absolutely excellent. Just go! (we could not believe it when the bill arrived: less than £25 for the two of us with drinks and 2 courses!)
