Open plan pub with large beer garden. A relatively new find for me and after seeing dogs in there before and a water bowl by the bar, took my two dogs for a visit. No particular fuss was made of them by the staff either positively or negatively, but then they are much the same to human visitors.
Excellent if you like real ale and are in the area as they have a lot of guest beers. You can bring your own food to the pub, picnics encouraged, they don't serve any food at all apart from nuts and pork scratchings.

Friends of mine took on this pub in the summer, their second of two dog friendly pubs in Hertfordshire. Like their other pub, this one is hugely dog friendly. They welcome dogs with a bowl of water and a saucer of dog biscuits which tends to go down pretty well. Dogs are allowed in the main section of the pub just not in the smaller dining area. They also run a Woofer of the Week feature on their facebook page which is great fun. All the staff seem really dog friendly and will come and make a fuss of any dog that looks like a flirt. It's a really useful pub to have in the local area if you're a dog owner.

Stars
Stars are awarded by YOU.
Please help us get the stars right, they indicate overall dog-friendliness. So a simple
pub may deserve 5 Stars, whereas a very smart gastropub may only receive 1, (or visa versa).
Stars represent Your Views, SO...
If you think that one of the listed pubs needs more or less Stars PLEASE just HOVER OVER Rate Pub link AND CLICK THE STARS. Your new rating will get sent to us.
Why have some pubs got no stars?
Because no one has told us yet how many it deserves! Please bear with us while we update the pubs, this may take a little while as there are OVER 7000!
As you can see we do need your help with the new dog-friendly ratings. This is an excellent excuse to visit all the pubs that are local to you and do some serious research. Ideally every pub should be ‘starred and iconned’. Woof, woof!
